Dorset County Council web page holds an up-to-date on-line resource of Parenting Programmes throughout the county here These courses are aimed at Neurotypical parents and children.

Universal Programmes
The following
programmes are available to any parent within the catchment area of the
programme provider, and may assist parents with general parenting issues
/styles

PEEP
(Peers Early
Education Partnership) is an early learning programme, which aims to contribute
towards improving the life chances of children.
Fusion
Fusion is a six session course aiming to equip families with
skills and strategies to improve positive communication within the family unit.
Contact: Fusion is being run in schools thorough Dorset – please contact your child’s school for
further information.
Targeted Evidence Based Programmes
The evidence based programmes used in Dorset are listed below. All are approved by the National
Academy of Parenting Practitioners, as having a
high satisfaction rating from a broad range of parents, and a sound theoretical
base. They have been rigorously
evaluated and shown to be effective.
These
can be suitable for universal purposes but also where there may be
additional/high needs.
Triple P
Triple P is a parenting programme is
designed for parents (including grandparents, extended family or relevant
carers) of children with mild – severe behavioural or emotional issues.
Age related programmes;
· Group Triple P covers the 0-12 year age range.
· Teen Triple P covers the 12-16 years age range
Mellow Parenting
The Mellow Parenting programme is
designed for parents of children under five with a high or critical level of
need. It is particularly designed for; parents with mental health issues
including depression and post natal depression; parents with alcohol misuse
problems; parents on parenting orders; parents with anxiety or stress; and
parents / families where there are child
protection issues / concerns. (requires Social Worker referral)

The Incredible Years Programmes are
offered for parents /carers of children from birth. The programmes can be
offered universally and can be offered as targeted, specialist or treatment
programmes for a range of child conduct and attention problems.
Incredible Years promotes protective
factors such as positive and nurturing parenting and can reduce risk factors.

NAS Early Birds (0-4) Early Birds Plus (4-8) Barnardos - Cygnet
(8+). Training programmes involving sessions and home visits and is
run by local professionals, locally co-ordinated by Westfield Technology
College.
The programmes are
autism-specific and have three 'threads': 1)Understand your child's autism.
2)Get yourself into your child's world: make contact; find ways to develop
interaction and communication. 3)Learn how to analyse and understand your
child's behaviours; and How to use structure, so you can pre-empt and cope with
problem behaviours.
