Dorset Child and
Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)
Where's Your Head At? is a new website
from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) at Dorset
HealthCare NHS Foundation Trust.
This website offers helpful information
and advice to young people, parents, carers and professionals about young
people's mental health and emotional well-being.
Dorset HealthCare NHS Foundation Trust
is responsible for the provision of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services
across Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole. Our
service works with young people up to the age of 18 and their families who have
concerns of an emotional, behavioural or psychological nature. The Trust works
closely with partners in primary care including schools, social services and
GP's (general practitioners)
Depending on the needs of the young person and their family a
range of services and therapies are provided. CAMH Services are provided by a
wide range of staff including social workers, GP's, nurses, psychologists,
primary mental health workers and other therapists. These specialists work in a
number of different ways to help children, young people and their families find
ways to cope with emotional problems, which include individual and family
therapy sessions.
Dorset Child and Family Counselling Trust offers information, advice
and guidance and commissions counselling services for children, adolescents and
families where there are emotional, behavioural or other mental health
problems. Referrals through GP or other professionals.
